8th International Patellofemoral Research Retreat (2025)

It’s been two exciting years since our last gathering!

We’re thrilled to announce the 8th International Patellofemoral Research Retreat and Clinical Symposium (iPFRR25), taking place in Boston, Massachusetts, USA, from October 1st – 4th 2025. The iPFRN25 will disseminate the findings of the three evidence gap maps – focusing on risk factors, prognosis and interventions that were initiated in Bologna, Italy

Organizing Committee:

  • Dr. Joshua Stefanik
  • Dr. David Selkowitz
  • Dr. Neal Glaviano

Building on the legacy of the previous retreats, iPFRR25 will reunite leading researchers and clinicians worldwide. Together, we’ll share the latest advancements in patellofemoral pain research. Our core goals remain unchanged:

  • Share groundbreaking research on patellofemoral pain.
  • Discuss key literature to establish consensus statements and disseminate knowledge.
  • Develop a future-oriented research agenda for patellofemoral pain.

Following the retreat, a Clinical Symposium will be held. This symposium will offer summaries of key retreat findings, keynote presentations from renowned experts, and interactive skill-refining workshops. Don’t miss this chance to connect with colleagues and deepen your understanding of patellofemoral pain!

Stay tuned for registration details, program highlights, and venue information.

We eagerly await welcoming you to Boston!

Her work has been recognized with the prestigious 2014 ACR Henry Kunkel Young Investigator Award for outstanding and promising independent contributions to rheumatology research (awarded to no more than one clinical researcher and/or one basic science researcher each year), and the 2022 OARSI Clinical Research Award (in recognition of important contributions to OA research). She has also engaged in developing new classification criteria for several rheumatic diseases. She was awarded the 2016 Robert Dawson Evans Research Mentoring Award and has led the new CTSI Research Career Support Program initiative, PRIME (Pathways to Research Independence and Mentoring Excellence), which aims to support early career mentored researchers to successfully transition to becoming independent researchers.
