The Gold Coast is a one-hour drive south of Brisbane. Although there is an international airport at the southern end of the Gold Coast (Gold Coast Airport), international visitors may find it more convenient to fly into Brisbane Airport. Qantas is Australia’s national carrier, and has daily flights to Brisbane from around the world, in conjunction with partner Emirates. Virgin Australia can also connect you with Brisbane from various destinations worldwide. Your local travel agent can help you plan your journey, or consult airline websites (Qantas, Virgin Australia) or third party websites (e.g. Skyscanner, Expedia).
Domestic flights within Australia are frequent and affordable. Brisbane Airport and Gold Coast Airport are serviced by Qantas and Virgin Australia, as well as low-cost airlines Jetstar and Tigerair. See individual airline websites for details, or Webjet for a summary of fares on all airlines.
There are a number of options for transfers from Brisbane Airport to your Gold Coast accommodation. The most economical and fastest option is a shuttle, starting at $49 per person. Private transfers and limousines can also be arranged with some companies, which may be more economical and convenient for parties of two or more people.
Airtrain will also take you directly from Brisbane Airport to the Gold Coast. Services depart regularly, with a journey time of approximately 90 minutes. The station closest to the conference venue is Nerang.
Because the trip from Brisbane to Gold Coast is outside the metered zone, individual quotes would be required. Uber is legal in Queensland, with fare estimates approximately $103-$136 (guide only).
